The courier will not be handing over the hand-held devices for electronic signatures, but will instead log the first and last name of the person accepting the item and then use a code instead of a signature. The geolocation of the delivery will be captured at a safe distance.
For customers who are unable to come to the door or are self-isolation, a customer contact card will be left in the usual way for a friend or family member (who is not resident with someone who is self-isolating) to collect the parcel from their local Parcel Force depot or Post office branch, shown on the card. Please take a long a form of ID in the name of the person the item is addressed to.
Our delivery partners have also adjusted their capturing of Proof of Delivery (POD) information on the doorstep in respect of COVID-19 rules. It is now expected that a new process involving hand over of deliveries whilst maintaining 2 metres safe distance and manual recording of name or ID or special number is in place.
