5 out of 5! Talking oximeter wristband: Michael Booth

  • 2 min read

You can see full details of the Talking oximeter wristband andbuy it here.

Other than my watch, this is the lightest BP monitor I have ever used or tested. It was also the simplest. The only cable needed is the charging cable, so when you’re using the BP monitor there are no cables about to confuse you or get tangled in. It fits around the arm just above the wrist. (I found if you have a watch on the hand you are reading from, it will interfere with reading, so this will need to be removed).

Operating the BP monitor is simple. Strap the monitor with the face facing you on the underside of the arm and push the green button on the screen. That’s it. The reading can be seen on the screen, and it will be spoken to you (the voice can be switched off if you want too).

Note: you MUST have the monitor in line with your heart. So, your arm will need to be elevated to the height of your heart, which simply means you will have your elbow bent slightly so the monitor and your heart are in line. If you don’t do this then the readings will be inaccurate and on the higher side. I tried.

You can save your reading by pushing the ‘S’ on the side of the screen. You can have two people set up on the monitor. Each can save up to 99 readings each. It comes in a nice small storage box as well, bonus.

That’s it, it is as simple as that. I tested its accuracy against a calibrated BP monitor and it was accurate within 3mmHg as long as you follow the advice I have given and that are clear on the instructions.

The Talking Button clock is a very useful product. Taking assistance back to its very basics.
