The Wayback Memory Films

These specially made films - shot in 360 degrees surround sound and vision for a fun, immersive experience – faithfully recreate family life and times set around the Queen’s Coronation street parties of 1953 and England’s World cup winning summer of 1966. Each film is packed with memories, using music, fashion, food and conversation to help the viewer relive and share their own experiences. The films were created with the help of hundreds of volunteer actors, extras, an Emmy award winning director and a professional film crew.

Wayback has been welcomed as a non-intrusive way to rouse curiosity, amazement, enjoyment and memories of happy times for people living with dementia. Developed with the support of experts, The Wayback was awarded the coveted UK Challenge Dementia Prize - launched by Essex County Council with the support of the Alzheimer’s Society.
