Otiom is a small, simple and sturdy locator tag, which people with dementia carry on their person. Otiom offers people with dementia the freedom to move about freely. The location of the individual is only shared with relatives and carers if there is a risk of danger.

With the Otiom-app on their smartphone, relatives and carers will be notified as soon as the person with the tag leaves home. Carers can also be notified when the individual leaves a zone that has been defined – without the individual being continuously monitored.

With the Otiom-app it is easy define safe zones, which are areas where the person with dementia can be without being monitored. A safe zone could be their house and garden, the road where they live or the places they go for walks. Otiom also works indoors.

The Otiom-tag is designed to be entirely neutral and pleasant to the touch. Therefore, the tag has no buttons, lights or charging plugs; keeping things simple.

Otiom won’t suddenly run out of power; a message is automatically sent to the smartphone when it is time to charge the device. The starter kit includes the Otiom tag, charger, and bluetooth homebase device. No monthly subscription is required.

  • Otiom comprises of a wearable tag, a charger and 2-4 homebases which can be placed in different places around the house, e.g. near doors or in rooms.

How it works

When a customer buys Otiom outright, all equipment is fully owned by the customer. There is no charge to use the Otiom app and the customer will have unlimited use of the Otiom system for as long as it is needed.

The Otiom comes with a 1 year warranty and you will have ongoing support from Pentland Medical's team of experts.

Otiom is available in several starter kits for small, medium or large properties. Pentland Medical can advise on the starter pack for your property size as well as checking that your postcode area does have IoT coverage.

The Otiom-tag includes the new Internet of Things (IoT) technology. This means that it has a very long battery life, and it works where traditional GPS devices do not – including indoors.
